I have a problem with my memory
The opposite of what most folks would say:
As I age I recall things differently,
And clearly, in a most estranging way.

It isn’t merely I have changed, no longer
The shortened version of self-narrative
We all seem to make invariably younger,
And differences increase the longer we live;

Specifics for me also grow more vivid,
Emotions likewise seem to deepen more
Than at the time, which often leaves me livid,
Amused, or sad, surpassing what before

Was scarcely felt, while blithely, selfishly
Imagining my way, this occurred to me.

It's about time someone said something. Why not I? And what do I see in that? What do you see? We shall see. Otherwise what is there to say? Who are we without that?
